Vocational Training (Fashion Designing and Tailoring) Program for Persons with Disabilities
Skill Building, Livelihood and Placement Program
To ensure that PwDs have better skills and livelihood options so that they can live their life with dignity and confidence, SPARC-India decided to take up the issue and address the job security of the challenged. SPARC India set up a unit named “Vocational & Placement center”, a cell for the placement of PwDs in the year 2005.
The Work which is done under the Vocational Program:-
Survey is conducted under the program to identify employment opportunities for PwDs among NGOs, hospitals, schools etc.
Survey is done to identify and register more PwDs.
Awareness generation workshops & sensitization workshops are conducted and various industrial and corporate units like PepsiCo, Wipro were contacted.
Surveys done to identify and register more PWDs.
Vocational Training Institutes identified for enrollments of PWDs.
Visits are conducted to various corporate & cooperative bodies like- Parag Dairy, Reliance Indicom, Tata Indicom etc to identify and provide sustainable employment opportunities.
Sewing, Computer, Soft toy and Artificial Jewelry making Training Courses are conducted under the program for the PwDs and most marginalized weaker section.
