.  Jelly Fish Making Activity was organized on 29th December 2018 by Ms. Priyanka Singh and Miss Alka Verma, while Mrs. Anju Tiwari, Mrs. Archana, Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Shashi participated in the activity. The objective for this activity was to promote creativity and cooperation among students. Students were a lot interested in the activity; strands were made by paper strips while the body of Jelly fish was made by Disposable Bowls.

     
 
  Dr. Ruchi Srivastava (Consultant Rehabilitation Psychologist) visited Jyoti Kiran School during the last week of December 2018. She came on 26th, 27th and 28th December 2018. During these days she assessed Pratham, Pranjal, Gaurang, Ronit, Areeba, Tayyab, Ayush, Ansh, Adarsh and Aradhya. Parents and class teachers were present with the concerned students; she asked them about their medical history, any complications during birth or pregnancy, their kid behavior at their home and with their peers. Teachers shared about the classroom progress of the students, and what is their plan to proceed further, she shared her thoughts and input with both the parents and teachers. During her next visit in the month of January she will be assessing some more students. 
     
 
 

On 28th December 2018, some stationary material was distributed among Jyoti Kiran School students by Leena Seth. Mrs. Leena Seth visited the school occasionally, and did all kind of activities with the students like cake making etc. This year she decided to distribute some stationary material among students. All the students who were present that day, assembled in the Physiotherapy Hall, and they received beneficiaries from Mr.  Deepak. Mrs. Mridula Mehrotra, Ms Alka, Mrs Archana and Mrs. Rani and Ms. Anam Rakhshanda were present in the event. Around 32 students were present that day, who received the gifts. Students who weren’t present that day received their gifts on Saturday, 29th December 2018 by Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra, Mrs. Mridula Mehrotra and Mrs. Kiran Rastogi.

     
 
 

On 22nd December 2018, Saturday Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India celebrated Christmas Day with students and staff members. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Anju Tiwari organized this celebration at school. The main aim of this celebration was to enhance participation and togetherness among all students, and to aware students about the festival.

     
 
 

Dot to Dot Puzzle Activity was organized at Jyoti Kiran School on 16th December’2018, SaturdayMs. Archana Verma, Ms. Alka Verma and Ms. Priyanka Singh organized this activity. The aim of this activity is to enhance creativity and develop reasoning ability among students. Connect the dots (also known as   dot to dot or join the dots) is a form of puzzle containing a sequence of numbered dots. When a line is drawn connecting the dots the outline of an object is revealed. The puzzles frequently contain simple line art to enhance the image created or to assist in rendering a complex section of the image. Connect the dots puzzles are generally created for children. The use of numbers can be replaced with letters or other symbols. It is a beautiful addictive puzzle game about connecting the dots.

Some students like Sanjana, Affan, Tauhid, Rajshekhar, Ritik, Pratham etc solved it very easily. Rest of the students solved the puzzle with the help of teachers and found it very interesting. Some of the students found it so interesting that they solved all the sheets and some of them even color the objects.

     
 
 

A Parents Support Group meeting was organized on 8th December 2018, Saturday. Around 32 parents participated in this meeting along with Ms. Anam Rakhshanda (Program Coordinator, JKS), Mrs. Kiran Rastogi (Head Computer Teacher-SPARC India), Mr. Santosh Tiwari (Physiotherapist-SPARC India), Ms. Shashi Srivastava (Volunteer-SPARC India) and Ms. Alka Verma (Volunteer-SPARC India). Following points were discussed in the meeting

Ø  Miscommunication/lack of communication with teachers.

Ø  Physiotherapy sessions of students and discussion on it.

Ø  Government policies and facilities provided for Persons with Disabilities.

Ø  Student’s academic progress, their behaviour, cleanliness etc.

Ø  Open discussion

35. VIDEO DOCUMENTATION UNDER HCL UDAY’S PROJECT

Vineet Singh and his team from HCL visited SPARC India Jyoti Kiran School, to make a documentary. They made videos of classes and students learning and doing activities in classrooms, receiving therapy etc. 
     
 
 

WORLD DISABILITY DAY

The Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh organized State Level Award Distribution and Honor Ceremony at Jupiter Hall, Indira Gandhi Auditorium, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, on the occasion of World Disability Day i.e 3rd December 2018, Monday.

The Chief Guest for this event was Honorable Shri Ram Naik Ji, Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Shri. Om Prakash Rajbhar, Hon'ble Minister, Backward class welfare and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The Guests of Honor were Shri. Mahesh Kumar Gupta, I.A.S, Additional Chief Secretary, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Balkar Singh, I.A.S, Director, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Mr. Rajneesh Dubey (Principal Secretary, Medical & Health Department).

Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India, Sitapur Road, Lucknow also participated in it and presented a group dance on “Vo Radha Hai”. The students who participated in the group dance were Affan Siddiqui (Hearing Impaired), Kareem (Cerebral Palsy), Sanjana (Hearing Impaired), Laxmi, Kavya, Astha, Pari, Sona, Pranjal (Cerebral Palsy), Deepali (Cerebral Palsy), Neeraj (Cerebral Palsy) and Anant (Cerebral Palsy). They all enjoyed the program along with some other students from Jyoti Kiran School- Ansh, Gaurang, Shivan, Ayush, Divyansh, Pratham, Ronit and Mohit who went there as audience with teachers and support staff. At the end of the program all the participants were provided with lunch packs and were thanked for participating in the programmes and making this event successful.

     
 
 

On 17th November’18, Saturday Ms.Vibha Poonja, a teacher and around 13 students of G.D Goenka Public School, Shaheed Path, Lucknow, visited Jyoti Kiran School in order to explore the environment of such an inclusive school for children with disabilities and children who are facing with disabilities like cerebral palsy, mental retardation, autism etc.

They visited all the classes and interacted with all the teachers and students. The teachers explained them about the plans, activities and the students in detail. The physiotherapists and speech therapists explained about the therapeutic interventions which they follow on CwDs. Students encouraged CwDs and the students of G.D Goenka Public School interacted with all the students.

     
 
 

On 16th November 2018, Friday students of Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India participated in Anand Utsav-Sports Mela organized by PYSSUM, Lucknow at K.D Singh Babu Stadium, Parivartan Chowk, Hazratganj, for differently abled school children.

The program aims to bring out and showcase the talent of Differently abled children through various sports competitions like- 50 metres run, 100 metres run, 50 metres walk, 100 metres walk, Bocce and Soft ball throw.

The Chief Guest at the program was Mr. Om Vagaria (Kedar Organization, Social Work, Assam) and the Guest of Honor was Mrs. Pushpa Vagaria (Wife of Mr. Om Vagaria) and Ms. Elizabeth (Daughter-in-law of Mr. Om Vagaria).

Harshit participated in 50 metres run; Sanjana and Deepanshu participated in 100 metres walk; Gaurang participated in 50 metres walk; Sanjana, Deepanshu, Ansh and Anant participated in Bocce; Pranjal and Anant participated in Soft ball throw. Among these participants Harshit won silver medal in 50 metres run; Gaurang won silver medal in 50metres walk; Deepanshu won silver medal in 100 metres walk; Sanjana, Deepanshu, Ansh and Anant won silver medal in Bocce.

Ms. Kiran Rastogi, Ms. Shashi Srivastava, Ms. Alka Verma and Ms. Satwiki Mishra along with support staff supported the students during the games.
     
 
  SPARC-India organized a picnic event for the students of Jyoti Kiran School on 14th November’2018, Wednesday at Janeshwar Mishra Park, Gomti Nagar on the occasion of Children’s Day. Around 50 children, 15 staff members and 10 support staff along with Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) and Mrs. Mridula Mehrotra went for picnic. All the students were too excited and happy
     
 
  Diwali Pooja was organized at Jyoti Kiran School on 6th November’2018, Tuesday. All the staff members were assembled at one place in the hall. All the preparations for Pooja were done by support staff members. Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) along with his family members gathered up for Diwali Pooja. At the end Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra wished everyone “Happy Diwali” also distributed sweets packs to each and every member as diwali gift.
     
 
 

On 5th November’2018, Monday Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Uttar Pradesh organized Diwali Exhibition at Wave Mall, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar Lucknow, in which various organizations had put their stalls and displayed various decorative materials for the occasion of Diwali. SPARC-India was also one of the participants.  Ms. Anju Tiwari, Ms. Archana Verma and Ms. Satwiki Mishra along with two students Neeraj and Sanjana represented SPARC-India there. The stall comprised of decorative materials for home, wax candles, floating candles, lamps, variety of bandhanwaars, decorative rangolis, purses, envelopes, decorative idols of Lord Ganesh,  decorative diyas etc. Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) also visited the exhibition. All the persons around there found it very beautiful and bought it for decorating their homes.

     
 
 

This activity was organized at Jyoti Kiran School on 3rd November’2018. Mrs. Archana Verma and Mrs. Kiran Rastogi organized this activity. This activity was organized as a Saturday activity. The students painted and decorated the diyas in different ways. This kind of activities enhances creativity and curiosity among students.

     
 
 

HCL IT City, Sultanpur Road, Lucknow organized Diwali Mela on 2nd November’2018, Friday within its campus. Various organizations had put their stalls and displayed various decorative materials for the occasion of Diwali. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi, Mrs. Rashmi Jaiswal and Mrs. Shashi Srivastava along with support staff represented SPARC-India there. The stall comprised of decorative materials for home, wax candles, floating candles, lamps, variety of bandhanwaars, decorative rangolis, purses, envelopes, decorative idols of Lord Ganesh,  decorative diyas etc.

     
 
 

On 27th October’2018, Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India organized Thumb and Spray Painting as Saturday Activity for all the students. The main aim of the activity is to enhance their socialization, creativity and motor skills. Students painted the pictures with thumb or fingers and after that they taught how to use spray color. They enjoyed this activity a lot and painted the pictures with different colours and techniques.

     
 
 

Dussehra Celebration was organized on 16th October 2018. Teachers and support staff decorated the Raavan with the help of colorful papers, crackers etc. a day before celebration. The main aim of the activity is to enhance their awareness about the festival, socialization and skills. Mrs. Anju Tiwari (Special Educator) told students about the festival of Dussehra and shared the stories behind the celebration of this festival.

     
 
 

On 13th October 2018, PSG meeting was organized. The meeting was facilitated by Mrs. Kiran Rastogi (Head Computer Teacher- SPARC India), while Mrs. Archana Verma (Vocational Teacher-SPARC India), Mr. Santosh Tiwari (Physiotherapist-SPARC India), Mrs. Shashi Srivastava (Volunteer-SPARC India), Ms. Alka Verma (Volunteer-SPARC India) were present for support and additional facilitation.

 Following points were discussed in that meeting

Ø  Transportation issues and support of parents in dropping their children to school, showing gratitude and discussion with other parents.

Ø  Discussion related to the attendance and homework provided to the students.

Ø  Discussion on complaints by parents for delay in school departure time during any program at school randomly.

Ø  Open discussion, feedback and suggestions.

     
 
 

Yoga day was celebrated on 6th October 2018 as an in-house (Saturday) activity. Activity was facilitated by Miss Alka Verma (Volunteer SPARC India) and Mrs. Anju Tiwari (Special Educator SPARC India). Main aim of the activity was to aware students about the benefits of yoga, develop body awareness, learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through breathing, awareness of meditation and healthy movement, build concentration, and increase their confidence and positive self-image. Besides Yoga, they had instructed students to come in color green, so that students can develop the concept of colours.

     
 
  On 29th September’2018, Saturday Balgeet was organized as Saturday Activity in Jyoti Kiran School. Ms. Alka Verma along with all the teachers organized the activity. The main aim of this activity is to enhance socialization, communication & sense of participation among the students of school. All the students were gathered in hall and asked to recite the songs (Do chuhe the mote mote se, Lakdi ki kathi, kathi pe ghoda, Jungle jungle baat chali hai pata chala hai) after the teachers with rhythm and actions.
     
 
 

Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) along with Shri Uma Shankar Ji (President, SPARC-India) and four parents (two fathers and two mothers) met His Excellency Shri Ram Naik Ji at Raj Bhawan on 28th September’2018, Friday with the following twin purposes:

1.      To submit the proposal of setting up of Resource Center on Disability Issues.

2.      Request for interim financial support for running of Jyoti Kiran School which was facing financial crisis for last six months.

3.      Governor Saheb gave patient listening and praised the hard effort being made by SPARC-India in the field of disability.

     
 
  On 22nd September’2018, Saturday Movie show- Hichki was organized as Saturday Activity in Jyoti Kiran School. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Shashi Srivastava along with all the teachers organized the activity. All the students were gathered together in one hall and junglebook film was displayed on projector. The main aim of this activity is to enhance socialization, communication, cooperation & sense of participation among the students of school.
     
 
 

On 14th September, 2018, Friday Dr. Archana Kapoor (Professor, IT College) and Dr. Roma Joseph (Associate Professor, IT College) along with students of B.Ed Ist year visited Jyoti Kiran School to motivate and cherish the students through their programmes, skills. All the students of Jyoti Kiran School and IT College were gathered in the hall and they presented various programmes, games for students and gave them gifts whosoever won. Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder and Director, SPARC-India) thanked everyone from IT College who motivated everyone with so much positivity.

     
 
  On 8th September’2018, Saturday Birthday Celebration of Ms. Leena Seth was organized as in Jyoti Kiran School. Our esteemed donor Shalimar Corp Limited, Mrs. Leena Seth (Head) along with her son, Mr. Kunal Seth and Miss. Rhea Seth came to Jyoti Kiran School along with gifts and surprises for students. Everyone wished her ‘Happy Birthday” students sang birthday song when she cut the birthday cake and distributed it to everyone. Students also gave her birthday cards with blessings. Then she distributed gifts, coloring books, and snacks to each and every student and celebrated her birthday by blessing them. All the students seemed very happy and joyful. 
     
 
  Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow had organized cultural event every year, this year they celebrated this occasion on 7th September’18, Friday. They invited Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) for enlightening the students on the concept of Inclusive Education. The main focus was on “Education for Differently abled” in the programmes/projects. They also wish to develop an understanding on issues related to disability among their partners.  Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra gave his views on topic “Education for differently abled” Then   she requested Dr. (Mrs.) V Prakash who is the principal of Isabella Thoburn College. He asked the students to volunteer at the organizations working in the disability sector. She also introduced about Miss Rekha Mehrotra. She recognizes the strength of mother behind her son success journey. She introduced the journey of Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra. Then Mrs. Anju Tiwari, Special Educator, JKS introduces two success stories and our two students (Anshi Singh and Sonal Srivastava) also presented songs.  
     
 
 

On 1st September’2018, Saturday Fancy-dress Activity cum Janmashtmi celebration was organized as Saturday Activity in Jyoti Kiran School. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Shashi Srivastava along with all the teachers were busy in organizing the activity. The main aim of this activity is to create awareness and enhance skills of students. All the children were so excited about the activity and few students have participated in the fancy-dress activity. Satakshi of Foundation Class and Adarsh of Block-A were dressed at Radha-Krishna, Pranjal was dressed as Chota Bhim and Hariom was dressed as Polythene-Don’t Use Me.

     
 
  On 25th August’2018, Saturday Rakhi-making and Rakshabandhan celebration was organized as Saturday Activity at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India by Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Archana Verma. All the materials for rakhi-making was collected at one place like thread, beads of different colors and sizes, artificial flowers fevicol etc. All the students were collected at one place and they were taught how to make various kinds of simple and beautiful handmade rakhis. Then teachers tied rakhi to all the girls and boys and celebrated rakshabandhan in a cultural way, shared sweets and enjoyed it a lot. Teachers told them the importance of rakshabandhan. Then they asked questions to the students related to it. They all participated in it very enthusiastically and were very happy and excited.
     
 
  Vishwa Rakshabandhan Mahotsav at Divyangjan Shashaktikaran Samaroh was organized at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Nirala Nagar, Lucknow on 24th August’2018, Friday by Dr. Harmesh Singh Chauhan, National President, National Integration Mission and sponsored by various NGOs like Prayatn etc. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Honorable Mr. Vijay Agarwal, Former President Vidya Bharti, Uttar Pradesh and the Guest of Honor were Honorable Mr. Indresh Kumar, President-Member National Executive Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and many more. Students of Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India participated and performed solo dance- “Kehte hai hamko pyar se India wale” by Sanjana, group dance- “Suno gaur se duniya walon” and Areeba (Rani Laxmi Bai), Anjali (Fairy), Shivan & Gaurang (Negroes) participated in “fancy dress competition”. Everyone appreciated them and as an appreciation the participants along with the teachers were honored.
     
 
 

On 21st August’2018, Tuesday Mr. Vikash Mishra, Product Sales Manager, Assistant Vice President, Regional Branch Head, YES Bank along with his colleague Mr. Rahul Saxena visited Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India. The main aim of their visit was to observe the working and visit the Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India and to provide support and contribution. We have already applied for film-making program by this bank for support but we were not selected in the second round BSE registered, we were working for cause.

     
 
  On 18th August’2018, Saturday Ms. Kusum Gurunani, well-wisher along with Mr. Ram Gopal Gupta from Hamara Seva Nyas, Rajeshwari Devi Charitable Trust visited Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India. The main aim of their visit was to observe and visit the Jyoti Kiran School and to provide financial support and contribution. Ms. Kusum Gurunani has always been a well-wisher and supporter for SPARC-India.
     
 
  SPARC-India, Jyoti Kiran School celebrated 72nd Independence Day on 15th August 2018, Wednesday with great enthusiasm. Mr. Umair Usmani, Vice President of Aegis VPE was present there as the Chief Guest. The other important stakeholders who were present there were Shri Uma Shankar Singh, President of SPARC India; Dr. Arvind Nigam, Board Member of SPARC India and Mr. P.C Saxena, Ex-founder President of SPARC India.
     
 
 

P.S.G Meeting was organized in SPARC India on 11th August 2018 with the objectives that parents also play an essential role in the development of CwDs as these children spend half of their time at the home with family. So it is quite important to observe and analyse the changes in behavior. The most important requirement for CWSN is to learn life skills so that they can lead their life independently. Mrs. Anju Tiwari inaugurated the meeting by sharing the theme of the meeting. The main theme/topic of the meeting was to discuss

·         Behavioral aspects of CwDs at home and School.

·         Parents sensitive approach and supportive behave in development of CwDs emotionally, mentally and  physically.

·         Innovative suggestions/ Feedback from parents.

     
 
  On 4th August’2018, Saturday Aerobics was organized as Saturday Activity in Jyoti Kiran School. Ms. Anushree Shree and Ms. Satwiki Mishra organized the activity. The main aim of the activity was to aware the students about the importance of aerobics and its valuable benefits.
     
 
  On 1st August’2018, Wednesday Mr. Vineet, an employee of HCL Technologies Limited along with his two colleagues from the Noida branch, Ms. Namrata Sinha, from Education sector of HCL and Ms. Meha Tiwari visited Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India. As we have submitted the proposal for financial assistance so the main aim of their visit was to assess the program of Jyoti Kiran School, how it is running, all the heads and activities mentioned are going on or not.
     
 
  On 28th July’2018, Saturday Puppet Show was organized as Saturday Activity for students of at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India. Mrs. Shashi Srivastava and Mrs. Anju Tiwari organized the activity. The main aim of the activity was to aware students about the cleanliness & its benefits and other good thoughts with the help of story-telling through puppet show.
     
 
  On 24th July’18, Tuesday, Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder, Secretary cum Director-SPARC-India) was invited for one hour session on disability inclusion at around 10.30 AM. He presented his views on the topic “Understanding Disability and its Inclusion in Development Projects” through a power point presentation.  
     
 
 

On 21st July’18, Saturday Parents Support Group Meeting was organized for discussion on issues which were asked to be discussed in the last meeting from 11 am at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India. The topics which were discussed during the meeting were:-

Ø  Discussion with parents about the (Intelligence Quotient) IQ Testing of students.

Ø  Discussion related to the support of parents in fund raising and support in meetings with ministers for SPARC-India.

Ø  Discussion related to volunteering in SPARC-India.

     
 
  Tree Plantation and its awareness as Saturday Activity- On 21st July’18, Saturday Tree Plantation and its awareness was organized as Saturday Activity in Jyoti Kiran School. Mrs. Archana Verma and Ms. Satwiki Mishra organized the activity. The main aim of the activity was to aware the students about the importance of tree plantation and its valuable benefits.
     
 
 

On 14th July’18, Saturday Parents Support Group Meeting was organized for discussion of various issues related to students from 11 am at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India. The topics which were discussed during the meeting were:-

Ø  Discussion with parents about new session of the students.

Ø  Discussion related to the attendance and fees of the students.

Ø  Open discussion- Parents can discuss on any matter or problems related to their children.

     
 
  On 13th July’2018, Friday Mr. Vineet, an employee of HCL Technologies Limited visited Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India. First he met Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India), after having a conversation with him he visited all the classrooms, met staff employees and children of Jyoti Kiran School.
     
 
 

On 7th July’18, Saturday Feedback of Summer Vacations from Children of Jyoti Kiran School was organized as Saturday Activity. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Anju Tiwari organized the activity. The main aim of the activity was to enhance the memory and attention of children. This activity was organized to refresh the memories of the summer vacations which would have filled the students with joy & enthusiasm to give a new start to the session.

     
 
  Valedictory Function of Summer Camp 2018- SPARC-India celebrated Valedictory Function of Summer Camp 2018 on 9th June’18, Saturday from 6:30 pm at Rai Umanath Bali Auditorium, Kaisherbagh, Lucknow. The Chief Guest for this event was Honorable Shri Ram Naik Ji, Governor of Uttar Pradesh. The Guests of Honors were Mr. Suresh Kaul (President-Sarthak Manav Kushthashram), Mrs. Asha Kaul, Mr. Uma Shankar Singh (President-SPARC India), C.A Rajeev Agarwal (Treasurer-SPARC India), Justice S.C.Verma, Mr. Neeraj (Project Coordinator ,Uday Project-HCL), Mr. Rupesh (Project Coordinator ,Solar Energy-HCL), Mr. Umair Usmani (Vice President, Aegis Ltd.), Mr.Akshay Chaudhari (System Engineer-TCS), Ms. Supriya Mishra (Asst. Manager communications- Airtel), Mr. Manish (Innovations). Around 200 guests (Parents/guardians, siblings of Children with Disabilities/ Persons with Disabilities) turned up for the event. Dignitaries from government, ex-employees of SPARC India and corporate were also present at the event.
     
 
  · Inauguration of Summer Camp- On 9th May’18, Wednesday Inauguration of Summer Camp was organized at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India. The Guests of Honor at this occasion were Mr. Pallav Joshi (Executive H.R, T.C.S) and Ms. Kavya (Associate, T.C.S). The topics which were discussed during the meeting were:- Ø Discussion related to progress reports of the students. Ø Discussion about the integration of meritorious students in other normal schools. Ø Information about the summer camp 2018 at JKS from 8th May’18 till 9th June’18. Ø Open discussion- Parents can discuss on any matter related to their students.

Workshop on Disability Rights for Women with Disabilities- For the people's awareness initiatives Workshop on Disability Rights for Women with Disabilities was organized by School for Potential Advancement and Restoration of Confidence (SPARC) India in collaboration with Shanta Memorial Rehabilitation Center (SMRC), Bhubaneswar with support of Common Wealth Foundation (CWF) on 26th March’2018, Monday at Parijat Guest House, Insafnagar, Indira Nagar, Lucknow.

The resource persons at the workshop were Ms. Lokapriya Mohanty and Ms. Reena Mohanty (Program Manager) and around 30 Women with Disabilities (WwDs) participated at the workshop.

     
 
  Clay Modeling as Saturday Activity- On 24th March’18, Saturday Clay Modeling was organized as Saturday Activity for students of at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India. Mrs. Archana Verma and Mrs. Anju Tiwari organized the activity. The main aim of the activity was to strengthen muscles and enhance creativity of students with engineering and provide fine motor and sensory play.
     
 
  Ring the Bell Campaign 2018-2019 for Inclusion of Children with Special Needs / Children with Disabilities in Govt. Primary Schools- For the people's awareness initiatives, the collective program of State Primary Schools, Ring the Bell Campaign 2018-2019 for Promotion of Inclusive Education was organized by SPARC India with the support of Janvikas Samiti, Varanasi at Community Center, Mankameshwar Temple Ward, Daliganj, Lucknow city on 21st March’18 from 12:30 pm in which local dignitaries participated. The Guests of Honor on this occasion were Mr. Amit Kumar Rai (Consultant/Specialist Inclusive Education, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan), Mr. R.N Singh (Advisor, Inclusive Education, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, UNICEF), Mr. Chiranjeev Ji (Janvikas Samiti, Varanasi), Mr. Avinash Ji (Care India), Mrs. Meenu Tiwari (District Coordinator, Inclusive Education, Lucknow), Mr. Vishnu Kant Tiwari (President medal winner, Social Worker), Mr. Ranjit Singh (Sabhasad, Daliganj, Lucknow), Mr. Shamsad Hussain (Principal, Primary School, Daliganj), Mr. Pallav Joshi, Ms. Zeena Ji, Ms. Kiran Ji (Principal, Tagore School) and Dr. Anoop Chaturvedi (Deputy Editor, The Pioneer, Hindi Dainik). Government Officials, Principals /Teachers, Aganwadi, Balwadi workers and all concerned Stakeholders participated in the event which included various programs viz Rally, Pledge/ oath, Quiz etc. Students participated with full enthusiasm and participated in the campaign by ringing the bell for Children with Disabilities.

Saturday Activity (Introduction to Meditation & Yoga) - On 17th February’2018, Saturday Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India Organization organized Activity of Introduction to Meditation & Yoga for all students. The main aim of the activity is to aware students about the benefits of meditation and yoga so that they can develop body awareness, learn how to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through breathing, awareness of meditation and healthy movement, build concentration, increase their confidence and positive self-image.

(iii)Open discussion- Parents can discuss on any matter related to their students.

At the end the report cards were shown to the parents and discussion regarding performance and marks was done for each child. Those who scored well were appreciated and those whose performance was weak were asked to work harder.

     
 
 

Abhivyakti (Inner Wheel Club Lucknow) -  0n 6th February 2018, Tuesday students of Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India participated in Abhivyakti, Inter School Skill Competitions (where expressions have no limits!) organized by Inner Wheel Club Lucknow at Chetna Institute, Aliganj, Lucknow at 11 am for differently abled school children. The program aims to bring out and showcase the talent of Divyang children (Mentally Challenged) through various competitions.

The Chief Guest at the program was Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi (Minister of UP Government, Minister of Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Maternity, Child Welfare & Tourism) and the Guest of Honor was Mrs. Mamta Dwivedi (District Chairman, Inner Wheel Club). Other members of Inner Wheel Club like Ms. Anita Shukla (President), Ms. Monika Bansal (Secretary), Alka Bansal (Project Convenor) and Ms. Soni Agarwal (Project Convenor) were also present.

     
 
 

Saturday Activity (Art Competition) - On 3rd February’2018, Saturday Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India Organization organized Art Competition for all students. The main aim of the activity is to enhance the creativity and gripping of students. As it is said drawing is one of the way through which one’s imaginations, emotions can be easily reflected. All students were provided with art papers and colors and asked to draw whatever they wish to. All the students were so overjoyed that they all started drawing their imaginations on papers.

     
 
 

Shalimar Colorothon (Draw your imagination) Season-9 - On 28th January’18, Sunday students of Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India Lucknow participated in Shalimar Colorothon (Draw your imagination) Season-9 organized by Shalimar Group of Companies in partnership with Lucknow Development Authority. The students enjoyed the competition and told that it was a very beautiful place and all those who came there have made very beautiful and marvelous paintings, we also want to draw such paintings. All the students were honored with Certificate of appreciation for their participation in Shalimar Colorothon (Draw your imagination) Season-9. The activity enhances their creativity and confidence level.

     
 
 

Teacher Training on Inclusive Education- Teacher Training on Inclusive Education was organized at Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India Organization from 27th January’18 till 30th January’18 i.e. from Saturday till Tuesday. The resource person for this programme was Dr. Aloka Guha Ji, Former Chairperson, The National Trust. She scheduled the training sessions into 4 days in which teachers of JKS (Mrs. Kiran Rastogi, Mrs. Anju Tiwari, Ms. Richa Dixit, Mrs. Priya Shukla, Mrs. Archana Verma and Miss. Alka Verma), Ms. Shaheen and Mr. Akhilesh Yadav participated in the training program. She divided them into three groups i.e. Group I (Mrs. Priya Shukla, Miss. Alka Verma), Group II (Ms. Richa Dixit, Ms. Shaheen, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav), Group III (Mrs. Kiran Rastogi, Mrs. Anju Tiwari, Mrs. Archana Verma).

     
 
 

Republic Day Celebration- On 26th January 2018, Friday, Jyoti Kiran School (an inclusive school), SPARC-India Organization celebrated 69th Republic Day with students and staff members. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Honorable Sri. Vinod Chandiramani (Director, Rotary Club) and the Guests of Honor were Mr. Uma Shankar Srivastava and Mr. Rajeev Sharma (Honorable Treasurer, SPARC- India). The celebration began with welcome of Chief Guest and Guests of Honor by Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra, (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India) and then flag hosting is done by them together with National Anthem. After that students of JKS and LRC presented various programmes.

     
 
 

Donation of walkers and sewing machine to Children with Disabilities (CwDs)/Person with Disabilities (PwDs) - On 22nd January’2018, Monday on the occasion of Basant Panchmi Pooja at Rabindra Palli Mahila Samiti, Rabindra Palli, Lucknow invited SPARC India for the celebration.

Mrs. Mridula Mehrotra (Head, Vocational Unit) along with students and two staff teachers Mrs. Priya Shukla (Special Educator) and Mrs. Archana Verma (Vocational Teacher) and support staff were present at the occasion. Then members of Rabindra Palli Mahila Samiti donated four walkers to students (Pranjal, Anshi, Sonal and Suraj) of Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India Organization, Lucknow and a hand-sewing machine to vocational trainee (Dolly) at Vocational Center of SPARC India, Madiaon, Lucknow. Each student told their names to them themselves and showed gratitude to them by saying “thank you”.

     
 
 

Sibling Workshop for siblings of children with disabilities - On 23rd December’2017, Saturday Sibling Workshop was organized by SPARC-India at Sehbhagi Sikshan Kendra from 10:30 am till 4:00 pm for sibling of Children with Disabilities. The resource person was Ms. Sandhya Saxena (Assistant Professor, Chetna). Mr. Someshwar Dutt Bajpayee (Program Manager, SPARC India) welcomed everyone and asked Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India) to welcome everyone present at the workshop. Ms. Sandhya Saxena thanked for welcoming her and started the workshop by asking the siblings their problems which they face during the take care of their sisters/brothers with disabilities.

     
 
 

Christmas celebration at Jyoti Kiran School - On 22nd December 2017, Friday Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC India celebrated Christmas Day with students and staff members. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi and Mrs. Anju Tiwari organized this celebration at school. Christmas tree was decorated with various colorful balloons, bells, stars, lights, toffees, chocolates, ribbons etc. The main aim of this celebration was to enhance participation and togetherness among all students. On this occasion Mr. Bikoo Rathore and Mr. Shanu Rajat (Gas Authority of India Limited) visited Jyoti Kiran School and celebrated Christmas Day with children. All the students were asked to gather at one place and they celebrated the occasion by cutting cake and singing songs of Christmas.

     
 
  21st Annual Day Celebration - SPARC-India, Jyoti Kiran School (an inclusive school) celebrated 21st Annual Function and World Disability Week on 9th December’ 17, Saturday at CMS Auditorium, Gomtinagar, Lucknow from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The theme of the function was “Sashakt Divyangjan-Sashakt Samaj”. The Chief Guest of the function was Sri. Mahesh K Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Department of Welfare of Other Backward Class, Secretariat Administration Department, Commissioner, Persons with disabilities, Uttar Pradesh. The Guests of Honor were Smt. Ministhy S. (IAS, State Mission Director, State Rural Livelihood Mission, Uttar Pradesh), Dr. Amit Kumar Rai ((Lucknow District Empowerment Officer, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Uttar Pradesh), Justice S. C. Verma (Purva Lokayukt), Mr. Shekhar Srivastava (President, Aghaaz Club), Mr. Farukh Rehman Khan (State Program Manager, Water Aid), Mr. Uma Shankar Singh (President, SPARC-India), Mr. Rajeev Sharma (Honorable Treasurer, SPARC- India), Ms Sonam Sinha (Skyline Architecture consultants private limited, Ekana sports city & G.C Constructions, Gomti Nagar), Dr. Anant Kumar (Occupational Therapist, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow) and Mr. Umair Usmani (Vice President, Aegis Ltd.). Other distinguished guests present on the occasion were Mr. Rakesh Kumar (Empowerment Officer, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Head Office, Uttar Pradesh), Mrs. Aruna Naidu (Principal, CMS, Old Branch, Rajajipuram, Lucknow). The annual function began with National Anthem in sign language by students of Jyoti Kiran School. Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra, (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India) welcomed the guests and talked about the journey of SPARC-India. He emphasized on the main streaming of children/persons with disabilities in the society for which attitudinal changes are required in the society. This would lead to inclusion of challenged persons in the society. The cultural program consisted of various inspirational songs and prayers like Vandana (Maa Durga Stuti- Mahisasur Vadh), Maa teri chunar, Taare zameen par, Kun faya kun and Vande Matram which were directed by Ms Lavina Jain Tandon. A theme play – Navchetna (skit on awareness of disability and empowerment) directed by Ms Alka Vivek was also staged on this occasion. The program was anchored by Dr. Alka Nivedan. The Honorable Chief Guest/Guest of Honors/Special Guests distributed awards to persons who had contributed excellently towards creating an inclusive environment and had worked for the rights and entitlements of the PwDs in their respective field. Chief Guest Mr. Mahesh K Gupta addressed the audience and said that everyone should cooperatively raise their helping hands towards the growth of persons with disabilities and society should keep positive approach towards them. He also praised the hardwork of students and teachers who performed in the programmes and gave best wishes to them for their bright future. In the end, Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra, Chairperson and Director, SPARC- India thanked all the honorable guests and dignitaries for making this event successful.
     
 
 

Celebration of World Disability Day - On 3rd December’17, Sunday State level award distribution ceremony was organized at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of World Disability Day. The Chief Guest on this occasion was Shri. Yogi Adityanath, Honorable Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh and guest of honor was Shri. Om Prakash Rajbhar, Honorable Cabinet Minister, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. At the onset of the programme wheel chairs, tricycles, crutches and shawls were distributed to the disabled persons. In SPARC-India students received 5 wheel chairs, 5 tricycles, 2 crutches and 4 shawls.

On the occasion various sports competitions (candle blowing, Balloon blooming and to throw volleyball in goal post) were organized at Remedial and Multi Activities Hall at Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (RALC), King George Medical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. All the students were overjoyed and enjoyed the activities in which they participated as it build up their confidence and increased their potential.

     
 
  Computer awareness & concept for JKS students and shopping in market place for Vikaas students - The Computer awareness & concept for JKS students and Shopping in market place for Vikaas students’ activity was organized at Jyoti Kiran School-an inclusive school for disabled, SPARC-India on 25th October’2017. Mrs. Archana Verma organized the activity of Computer awareness & concept in Foundation class and Block-A. The aim of this activity was to aware them about computer, its concept and its utility so that they can develop their interest in it and try to learn it which will help them in future life in order to get job and become self dependent. Mrs. Kiran Rastogi organized the activity of shopping in market place for Vikaas students. The aim of this activity was to aware children about the concept of money, concept of cost price, selling price and marked price
     
 
  Saturday Activity (Dusting & decoration of classroom) - The dusting & decoration in classroom activity was organized at Jyoti Kiran School-an inclusive school for disabled, SPARC-India on 18th November’2017. All the teachers (Mrs. Archana Verma, Mrs. Anju Tiwari, Ms. Richa Dixit, Mrs. Priya Shukla and Mrs. Kiran Rastogi) organized this activity in their respective classrooms. They all firstly gave the concept and benefits of dusting. All the students enjoyed and learnt a lesson that we should always keep our surroundings neat and clean to keep ourselves healthy and happy.
     
 
 

Children’s picnic of Jyoti Kiran School- Children’s picnic of Jyoti Kiran School- an inclusive school, SPARC-India was organized on 17th November’2017, Friday at Swarna Jayanti Smriti Vihar Park, Indira Nagar, Lucknow. Around 50 children, 15 staff members and 10 support staff went for picnic. All the students were too excited and happy. The smiles on their faces were immeasurable.

     
 
 

Visit of Teachers & Students of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar extension, Lucknow- On 14th November’17, two teachers (Ms. Tulika Chatterjee and Ms. Shalini Srivastava) and around 30 students of City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar extension, Lucknow visited Jyoti Kiran School, SPARC-India in order to explore the environment of such an inclusive school for children with disabilities and children who are facing disabilities like cerebral palsy, mental retardation, autism etc. and to celebrate a very special day i.e. Children’s’ Day with our children.

  Saturday Activity (Diya decoration) - The diya decoration activity was organized at Jyoti Kiran School on 7th October’2017. Mrs. Archana Verma and Mrs. Kiran Rastogi organized this activity. Teachers provided diya to each student and taught them how to paint it and decorate it with different colors of paint and golden dust. The students participated in this activity with interest and decorated the diyas in different ways. All the students attentively listened to the story behind the festival and said that they will enlighten as much as earthen lamps in place of lightings and will celebrate anti- cracker diwali.
     
 
  World Cerebral Palsy Day- On 6th October’17, Friday, World Cerebral Palsy Day was celebrated at SPARC-India Jyoti Kiran School. The chief guest or the resource person for this occasion was Dr. G.L Arora (Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rishi Hospital, Gomtinagar, Lucknow). At the onset Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra welcomed Dr. G.L Arora with a bouquet and honoring words. Dr. G.L Arora addressed parents and told them about the reasons of cerebral palsy. Then he moved towards the treatment of cerebral palsy which can be done through medication. After that teachers organized few activities like color identification, musical chair, passing the ball and dance for students.
     
 
  Nukkad Natak- 2nd Nukkad Natak was performed by Natakbaaz team on 26th September 2017 Tuesday near CMS School, E block- Office of Parshad Mr. Shiv Pal Sanwaria, Rajajipuram, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The main aim was to aware and sensitize people about the negative thinking of society against disability or disabled persons.
     
 
 
Inauguration of Livelihood Resource Center’s Skill Training and Placement program- On 25th September’17, Monday Inauguration Event was organized at Ucchasiksha mein Adhyanrat Drishtibadhit Chhatron Hetu Rajkiya Chhatrawas, Divyangjan Shashaktikaran Vibhag, Nishatganj, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh by Livelihood Resource Center’s Skill Training and Placement Program, A SPARC India Initiative. The Chief Guest on this occasion was our Honorable Cabinet Minister, Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

  Caregiver Training Programme and medical remedies for children- On 9th September’2017, Saturday Caregiver Training Programme was organized by SPARC-India at Sehbhagi Sikshan Kendra from 9:30 am till 4:00 pm for guardian / parents of Children with Disabilities. In this workshop parents and students were invited for caregiver training programme and to provide home based care to them. The chief guest was Mr. Ashok Singh, Director Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra the guest of honour and resource persons were   Dr. Anant Kumar (Occupational Therapist, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow), Dr. Rosalin Nath (Occupational Therapist, Rosalin Child Development and Rehabilitation Centre), Dr. G.L Arora (Orthopaedic Surgeon, Rishi Hospital, Gomtinagar, Lucknow) and Dr. Nalini Srivastava (Neuro Speech Therapist, KGMU).

  Saturday Activity (Junglebook Film) - Junglebook film show was organized on 26th August’17, Saturday for all students of Jyoti Kiran School as Saturday Activity. Due to rain very few students turned up for school that day. All the students were gathered together in one hall and junglebook film was displayed on projector. The main aim of this activity is to enhance socialization, communication, cooperation & sense of participation among the students of school
     
 
  Meeting with Governor- On 30th January, Tuesday Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India) along with Mr. Uma Shankar Singh (President, SPARC-India), Mr. Rajeev Sharma (Honorable Treasurer, SPARC- India), Mrs. Leena Seth (Wife of Honorable M.P, Mr. Sanjay Seth) and his cousin Mr. Brijesh Seth met Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Ram Naik and gave 45 minutes primarily on issue of land for SPARC-India Organization which is working for Persons/Children with Disabilities since 22 years.

Lecture at Consultation Meet on Child Mental Health-An Inclusive and Holistic Approach organized at National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development Regional Centre (NIPCCD), Lucknow - National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development, popularly known as NIPCCD, is a premier organization devoted to promotion of voluntary action and research, training and documentation in the overall domain of women and child development. It functions under the aegis of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India. The Institution runs a Child Guidance Centre for promoting Child Mental Health and to provide timely intervention to children having learning and behavioral problems. As a part of Institute’s advocacy work a Consultation Meet on Child Mental Health was organized at its premises from 17-18 January, 2018.
On 18th January’ 2018, Thursday Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (Founder Chairperson & Director, SPARC-India) was invited as an anchor and moderator by National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development Regional Centre (NIPCCD), Lucknow to share his rich experiences  on the topic- Disabilities and Beyond (Problems of Children with Special Needs).
     
 
 
Felicitation Ceremony - On 5th January’2018, Friday Christian Friends Forum organized felicitation ceremony (Milan ceremony) on the holy occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ and New Year for persons who contributed to the creation of a prosperous nation and served the society in various fields in the evening at 4: 00 pm in Christ Church College Auditorium, Hazratganj, Lucknow.
Chief Guest of the program was Swami Chinmayanand Ji, former Union Home Minister, Government of India. In the program 'Christian Friends Forum' honored Swami Chinmayanand Ji, Bishop Dr. Agustus Anthony, along with Shri Mahirajdwhaj Singh Ji, Smt. Sunita Neerja Ransom, Smt. Ranjita Smart, Smt. Anupriya Dayal, Ms. Purnima Nandita Das, Smt. Rekha Mehrotra and Shri Amitabh Mehrotra for their extraordinary contributions to social service.
The program was concluded with a memorandum given by Shri Rakesh Chattri.
The successful assemblage of the program was done by Mr. Rajiv Joseph and Shri Rakesh Chattri and the beautiful operation was done by Smt. Chetna Gidwani.
     
 
  National Conference on Disability: Multiple Possibilities and Prospects (Ability Continuum, Diversity, Access & Inclusion) - National Conference on Disability: Multiple Possibilities and Prospects (Ability Continuum, Diversity, Access & Inclusion) was organized by DISHA: A Resource centre for Multiple Disabilities, Rehabilitation Council of India, Government of Rajasthan and CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) from 9th November’17 till 11th November’17 at Pandit T.N Mishra Marg, Nirman Nagar “C” , Jaipur- 302019, Rajasthan. The objective of the conference is to promote sensitivity among corporate sectors and diversity in workforce through inclusive employment practices, accessibility in built environment and impart skills to PWDs. The focus of the conference was on creating champions from within the industry, making work places accessible and promoting inclusion of PwDs. NGOs, business leaders, experts, academicians and others participated in this conference. He met various great personalities and members of NGOs who came there to attend or present     their papers. He also visited an organization named Sarthak Manav Kushthashram (An Institution Extending Humanitarian Suppport), Jaipur, a voluntary and charitable organization.
     
 
  UN Special Rapporteur Visit to Lucknow- On 1st November 2017, Wednesday, Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra (along with members of Uttar Pradesh Viklang Manch) was invited for a brief interaction with UNSR to discuss issues and challenges related to access to WASH in the specific context of persons with disability & informal urban poor workers at Conference Hall, Department of Social Work, University of Lucknow. The theme of the programme was civil society consultation with focus on access to WASH services and facilities for person with disability in both rural and urban areas and informal urban poor workers.
     
 
 

·         Summer camp 2017 - The 3 week summer camp was organized at Jyoti Kiran School from 8th May 2017 where children were taught art (drawings), craft (paper pasting, bedroom and house out of foam, thumb / palm / foot printing drawings, fish and lion out of disposal glasses, tie and dye on handkerchief etc.), poem recital (‘dhakka maaro – dhakka maaro’ and ‘inci-vinci makdi upar chad gayi.’), songs (prem se hmko jeene do) and dance.

The main aim of the study was to identify if the entitlements and benefits provided by the government have so far reached the CwDs in schools. Mr. Suraj Yadav (Secretary, UPVM) and Mr. Somesh D. Bajpai (Program Manager, SPARC-India) conducted the study. They met Ms. Pratibha Misra (Mathura District Coordinator, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) and discussed about the entitlement implementation scenario in the district

Theater Arts Workshop conducted this camp taught various theater skills to our children, the program was held on 9th June 2016 after one month training program
     
 
  Trainer Workshop  on Inclusive Education organized by UNICEF on Aug’16 with the objective to develop the skills of master trainer to train teachers for creative Inclusive learning environment for effective participation and learning of Children with Disabilities. Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra was invited as a resource person to share his valuable experience on 3rd to 7th Oct second training workshop in Delhi. At this meeting the Organization which was invited functionaries from SCERT, State Development of Education/ SSA & UNICEF offices from two states to participate.
     
 
  Dr. Amitabh Mehrotra was invited as a resource person from TISS & UNICEF, Mumbai on 25th and 26th April. The topic of the workshop was Regional Capacity Building workshop for Empanelled partners TATA Institute of Social Science organized by National CSR HUB. Dr. Mehrotra delivered his speech on disability and presents their views on this topic.  He himself studied in TISS so he shared a special bond, he also shared his experience & incidents as a student in TISS.
     
 
  Mr. Amitabh Mehrotra was invited as a resource person for a symposium conducted at TISS, Mumbai on 4th March where he shared his experience and barrier in the field of Disability, he describe his journey and learning as a PWD how he face struggle in his life and what determined him to focus on his targets in life. Dr. Mehrotra answered to all the queries asked by people present their on disability.  
     
 
 
17th FEBRUARY ART COMPETITION OF JKS SCHOOL STUDENTS AT ROTARY CLUB 

On17th February, Rotary Club organized an Inter School Skill Competition in which the Guest who attended were Ms. Shiromani Jain (Chairperson), Ms. Vineeta Gupta (Secretar, Rotary Club), and Mrs. Rita Singh (President, Inner Wheel Club), 10 children each from 5 Schools participated, in which Art Competition and the Cultural Activities were performed. Students from SPARC India - Jyoti Kiran School (An Inclusive School) participated in the same and performed well which touched the hearts of all those who were present there.

Marathon of Persons with Disabilities

SPARC India organized a Marathon 18th Dec’14 on in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Vikalang Manch with representation of more than 800 Persons with Disabilities from different districts of Uttar Pradesh, the march started from Ram Manohar Lohia Park, Gomti Nagar at 11:15 a.m with flag off by partner representatives from NTPC, Uninor, Mr. Sudhir Halwasia and representatives of HT (HT was our media partner for this event).
 
Honorable Mr. Ambika Chaudhary Cabinet Minister, Department of Development of Persons with Disabilities and Welfare of Other Backward Classes, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, had consolidated the marathon as Chief Guest,  grace the occasion and addressed the heterogeneous group of persons with disabled ( PwDs ) came across from the different districts of Uttar Pradesh.

  Three days Training of Trainers (ToT) for strengthening the Uttar Pradesh Viklang Manch (UPVM) was conducted by SPARC India under the PACS program. In this workshop, persons with disabilities were participated from 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. District representatives shared their strength, Vision and mission and what they are expecting from Uttar Pradesh Vikalang Manch. (28-30 Oct’14)
